Deborah J. Mikita, MA

Licensed Psychologist and Founder of St. Anthony’s Point

Deborah J. Mikita is a seasoned psychologist with extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of mental health issues across diverse populations. As the founder and President of St. Anthony’s Point, Inc., Deborah has overseen the organization’s growth from its inception, managing clinical and administrative responsibilities to ensure the delivery of high-quality mental health services.

In her role as Clinical Director of Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) at St. Anthony’s Point, Deborah leads the development and implementation of comprehensive care programs designed to support children and adolescents with significant behavioral health needs.

Deborah is also the founder and Executive Director of St. Michael’s Harbour, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting adults on the autism spectrum in finding and maintaining competitive employment. Her work in this area has been recognized through successful grant applications and partnerships with state and local agencies.

In addition to her leadership roles, Deborah serves as a Clinical Psychologist at George Junior Republic. Her work is informed by a deep understanding of trauma and its impact, and she is skilled in both clinical assessment and therapeutic interventions.

Deborah holds an MA in Clinical Psychology and is currently pursuing a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology. She is licensed in the state of Pennsylvania and has completed additional certifications in traumatic stress studies and EMDR.

Her professional affiliations include the American Psychological Association, the Pennsylvania Psychological Association, and the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation. Beyond her professional achievements, Deborah is committed to community outreach, policy development, and mentoring the next generation of mental health professionals.

Administrative Director / Behavior Specialist

Amber L. van der Snel brings over 26 years of dedicated experience to St. Anthony’s Point, where she serves as the Administrative Director and a leading Behavior Specialist. Amber began her career in 1998 as a Behavioral Health Technician, working closely with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Her passion for the work led her to pursue a graduate degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Amber specializes in Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Integration Disorder, and Dual Diagnosis, utilizing therapeutic approaches such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Theory of Mind, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She is deeply committed to empowering individuals across the lifespan, from children to adults, to achieve their fullest potential.

In addition to her professional qualifications, Amber is an active member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI). Outside of her professional life, she enjoys camping, hiking, kayaking, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Amber is fluent in English and American Sign Language (ASL), further enhancing her ability to connect with and support the diverse needs of her clients.

Brittany Elizabeth Wilson is a dedicated Behavior Consultant and Mobile Therapist at St. Anthony’s Point. With 3 years of experience in the field, Brittany is currently working towards her Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) certifications. She specializes in Trauma Therapy and Child & Adolescent Therapy, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as her primary therapeutic approach.

Brittany is committed to supporting children and adolescents through their healing journeys, particularly those who have experienced trauma. Her approach is both compassionate and evidence-based, ensuring that each child receives personalized care tailored to their unique needs.

In addition to her professional role, Brittany is a trained Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) and enjoys hobbies such as going for walks with her dog, gardening, and crocheting. She is fluent in English, and her warm and approachable manner makes her a valued member of the St. Anthony’s Point team.

Crystal René Novak is a seasoned Behavior Consultant and Mobile Therapist at St. Anthony’s Point, bringing over 21 years of experience to her role. Crystal is currently in the process of obtaining additional licensure, further enhancing her already extensive expertise in the field.

Crystal specializes in Trauma Therapy, Reactive Attachment Disorder, and Child & Adolescent Therapy, with a particular focus on integrating art therapy into her therapeutic approach. She is skilled in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and trauma-focused therapies to support her clients in navigating their challenges and building resilience.

In her therapeutic practice, Crystal combines evidence-based methods with a deep understanding of each child’s unique needs, making her a compassionate and effective practitioner. Her dedication to helping children and adolescents heal and thrive is evident in her long-standing commitment to the field.

Outside of her professional life, Crystal enjoys painting, kayaking, and rock collecting—hobbies that reflect her appreciation for creativity and nature. She is fluent in English and is a valued member of the St. Anthony’s Point team.

Melissa Suzanne Lambright serves as a Behavior Consultant at St. Anthony’s Point, bringing over 25 years of experience in the social work field. Melissa holds a license in Behavior Specialist (BSL) and is certified in trauma-focused therapy. Her extensive background includes specializations in Marriage & Family Counseling and Child & Adolescent Therapy, where she employs evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Melissa also serves as the Behavior Service Manager at our sister agency, St. Michael’s Harbour.

Melissa’s commitment to helping individuals and families navigate their behavioral health challenges is rooted in her deep understanding of trauma and her compassionate approach to therapy. She is also affiliated with the National Society of Leadership and Success, reflecting her dedication to leadership and continued professional development.

Melissa’s broad expertise and leadership make her an invaluable asset to the St. Anthony’s Point team, where she works tirelessly to improve the lives of those she serves.

Behavior Consultant / Clinical Supervisor

Dr. Katrina C. Woods is a highly skilled Behavior Consultant and Clinical Supervisor at St. Anthony’s Point, with expertise in child and adolescent therapy. She holds a Doctorate in Psychology with an emphasis in Nonprofit Management from Ashford University and is a Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS). Dr. Woods specializes in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), which she effectively integrates into her therapeutic work with children and adolescents to enhance social interactions, develop new skills, and maintain positive behaviors.

Dr. Woods’s journey into the field of behavioral health was profoundly influenced by her personal experience following her son’s diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. This led her to pursue a graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from George Mason University, where she completed a practicum to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). Her hands-on experience includes providing direct services to children as young as 18 months and conducting one-on-one behavioral interventions.

In her role at St. Anthony’s Point, Dr. Woods is responsible for overseeing the implementation of intervention programs, training team members in behavior skills, and continuously monitoring and adapting programs to ensure the best outcomes for her clients. Her approach is both data-driven and compassionate, making her a vital resource for the children and families she serves.

Outside of her professional commitments, Dr. Woods enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, cooking, and attending church. She is dedicated not only to her profession but also to enriching her personal life with activities that bring her joy.

Our vision is to create a system of services dedicated to providing quality, effective, and culturally competent mental health and community based services that promote recovery, wellness, resiliency and growth for adults, older adults, children, adolescents and families.

We also desire to help build a treatment system where access will be easier, services are more effective, out-of-home and institutional care are reduced and stigma toward those with mental health and emotional needs no longer exists.
